A Little Lighter, A Little More Free

All cut!  It ended up being a bit sleeker and mod-looking than I expected, but I am definitely going to find it difficult to go back to having long locks again.

Chop Chop

I've always had the desire to see what it would be like to have short hair.  Like really SHORT.

I've been stocking up on images of short haircuts for way too long.  It's time to make this a reality.  Stay tuned...

I'm leaning towards the Anja Rubik haircut (second from top) or the Carey Mulligan one.

Any last words of advice or thoughts before I go for the cut??

Macarons and Sweaters

Looking at this gorgeous macaron makes me want to create an embellished sweater in the rich purple hued yarn I have.  Photos of the project coming soon.

I should stop sketching when I'm starving...

Blackberry Macaron from La Maison du Macaraon.
I've been meaning to try out Laduree, I really have.  But this little place just has a much more convenient location!  Anyone been to Laduree and care to share their experiences??

Details

I tend to be a very visual learner.  This is part of how I take notes and write down instructions for my knitting projects:

Any particular methods that you have for taking notes for a creative process?

Variations - Skirt Edition

More interview outfits - I wonder if I can actually even get hired at this point...

I was always a bit hesitant to wear skirts without tights/stockings to interviews.  However, because of the perpetual heat of NY, I eventually gave in.  I think the key is to stick with neutral colors, a conservative fit, and have the skirt hem fall closer to your knees than your mid-thigh.  Also, I tend to tone down this kind of look a bit by wearing ballet flats instead of these heels.

Variations - Trouser Edition

It has certainly been the summer of interviews.  I have honestly lost count of how many I have been on, but am sure it is in the double digits.  While the job search is never an easy process, neither is the the process of getting dressed for interviews, especially in the heat and humidity.

Here are some variations of the few interview outfits with these great pair of Zara trousers I have been rotating throughout the summer.

BCBG Velvet Blouse, Zara Trousers, Payless Heels

Forever21 Jacket, H&M shirt, Zara Trousers, Payless heels
Without the jacket...The funny thing is that I found this blouse at the children's section at H&M, and it only cost $3!

Skirt version coming soon.  Thanks for reading!
